Matey has been fighting with CKD for more than 5 years. He is final stage. Last CRAE result was 750, BUN:40
After infusion, no change at all, seems like the end is quite near...
He is constantly sitting in the position described in Tanya's guide which indicates high level of BUN
I wonder if he is in pain? The vet said the level of BUN has influence on the brain
He has lost 1kg for 4 months (currently 4kg), does not feel like eating.
Do you have experience with this pose and its meaning?

Hi.

I would suggest: Treat the cat and not the measurement results.

I would not rate the sitting position alone for his wellbeing but his general behaviour and state.
Can you convince hin to eat anything? Treats or ham maybe?

Do you think he still wants to live?

This was my personal guideline with my own CKD cat.
I had her euthanised when I knew she reached the point when everything coming for her would have been really bad.

I so very much wish you to be able to have some good time together.

Seems like the problem is Acute Pancreatitis.
Pancreatitis – IBDKitties
The sonograph showed a large cyst in the pancreas. Matey tried to eat but vomited like a fountain two times.
The cat has been in pain for 3 weeks, I am so mad I didn't find the cause of the pain earlier. The vet said the level of BUN has influence on the brain... But he wasn't mad at all
His eyes were in pain as well.
He lost another kilo, I don't think there is a way back for him.

I am really sorry to read your news, but I think you are right here.
With CKD there is no way back.

I hope you still have a good time together. No matter how short.

Im sorry to read that. ☹

Is the Pancreatitis still treadable?
If so and your cat is still fighting and willing to live, ich would gif it a try.

If affordable, I would take him to a veternary clinic, since they have more possibilitys to help.
Sometimes cats can bounce back from very bad illnesses.

If there is realy no was to help him, please let him go in peace. I wish you the very best. ❤

Matey went silenty to a better place without pain
