Ich versteh es auch nicht. Ich bin inzwischen auch echt sauer auf Petfun, da sie einen Materialfehler abstreiten und behaupten, es läge an meinen Katzen dass der Baum schon so schlimm aussieht.

Ich hab zwei ganz normale eher ruhige Katzen, die zudem auch noch diverse andere Kratzstellen haben. Ich werde bei PF aber behandelt, als wenn ich das erfinden würde und stattdessen eine Horde wilder Riesenkatzen hätte...

Ich hab jetzt hier ja schon gesehen, dass eure PF Kratzbäume alle auch nach Jahren noch wesentlich besser aussehen.

Und ganz ehrlich, da hätten sie dir doch lieber einen Rabatt oÄ für eine neue Säule angeboten und damit einen Kunden behalten.
Weil wie gesagt, erlebt habe ich das noch nie und auch nicht nicht großartig im Netz gelesen.
Würden die Bäume nach kurzer Zeit so aussehen, also ich würde das Geld nicht investieren.
Unser Baum von März hat im Übrigen noch keine Abnutzungserscheinungen an den Säulen, also bisher alles wie gewohnt.

I would need some help.
I bought Petfun Iris and there are 4 different screws that are different from the others.
On the picture it seems like these screws are suppose to go through the cave and into the pilars,is that correct?
Mabye a dumb question but better be safe than sorry

You are absolutly right. They should be smaler than the others and a different screw thread

I am starting to feel quite stupid over here but..isn't there suppose to be two holes in the cave except for those screws that is already in it?
There is only one hole in the bottom for the pilar but no hole on top for the plate?

No, there aren't holes for this screws in the cave.

I had the same problem with my scratching tree some years ago.

You have to screw them through the cave walls into the pilar.

it is going very hard - I just used a drill driver

But those screws which are already in the cave (top and bottom) Are those long enough to simply attach the plates under and over the cave?
I mean I will probably firgure it out but I can't at the moment because I am painting the parts right now.

I also thought that the bottom would be real wood according to the description but mine is plywood.

I think they are - if they are too long they would be disturbing the bed on the top of the cave?

And yes - the plates of all petfun scratching trees are made by plywood. Only the groundplate and the pilars made in realwood - the pilars are pinewood and the groundplate of mine is beech

My bottomplate looks like plywood too though,that's why I was a bit confused because I thought it would be real wood. It's very heavy no matter what so it doesn't matter. The bottom plate in most pictures looks slightly thinner than mine is.
But mabye I am wrong. Basically looks like all the other parts just with more "layers"

Maybe it is because yours is from Zooplus?

Mine is beech and 4 cm.

By the way - plywood is very strong and much more flexible and not that heavy like real wood and I guess it will not break that easy.

Plywood is made by many thin layers real wood.

It may be. It's just weird that zooplus claims to sell a real wood bottom plate and yet its not.
I am starting to doubt it a little,the last thing I need is a tree that won't stand straight of bend.

But it is called "Multiplex" on the website, isn't it? The description is not wrong.
In general the medium cat trees aren't as steady as the high ones. However, my medium one ('Silvia') never tipped.

Nope,on the swedish site it says that the pilars and the bottom plate is real wood. So it might have been translated wrong.
Would it even made a different if changing the bottom plate for real wood since it ain't a huge tree though?

On the german website you have to read the text to figure it out. It may be a little misleading.

The "multiplex" bottom plate is fine, I wouldn't change it and I guess it wouldn't make a difference.

Translating this part "Både klösstammarna och bottenplattan är av massivt trä = both the bottom plate and the pilars are made of solid wood".
They do mention multiplex but not regarding the bottom plate.

I was curious so I acctually called them asking,they would check it and get back to me.
But like you said it probably doesn't matter,but at least they can rethink and change that part later then.

Ich brauche mal euren Rat

Uuuund zwar, habe ich nun seit 5 Jahren meinen Petfun.

Ich wollte ihn wieder etwas aufhübschen und vielleicht auch etwas schützen.

Ich habe ihn damals ungeölt und unlackiert gekauft.

Nun ist mein Plan, die erste Schicht ganz leicht ab zu schleifen und dann eben zu lackieren.

Nun habe ich mit einem befrundeten Maler gesprochen, der meinte, es wäre Quatsch einen speziellen Lack zu nehmen, der für Kinder geeignet ist. Vorallem würde der splittern.
Ich soll ganz normalen Klarlack nehmen. Wenn der ausgetrocknet wäre, wäre der nicht mehr giftig.

Stimmt das so?
Mir ist irgendwie nicht wohl dabei...
Die Katzen kauen schon manchmal an den "Kugeln" von den Bettchen rum...

Ich nehme für sowas immer kindergeeigneten Lack, kenne ich noch gut aus der Hamsterhaltung (nennt sich da auch "Sabberlack" , wobei bei Kleintieren natürlich der Kontakt mit dem Holz deutlich intensiver ist als bei Katzen, ich schätze mal, dass es darum bei Kindern und Kleinkindern auch hautsächlich geht, Dinge werden eben in den Mund/ins Maul genommen oder gar angenagt), damit fühle ich mich einfach wohler. Der dünstet auch nicht so furchtbar stinkend aus. Das da etwas splittert konnte ich noch nie beobachten.
Preislich nimmt sich das für die kleinen Flächen auch nicht viel.
